This Week's Speaker:

Alisa Palmer-- "Training your Children to Work"

Picture"I am a writer and speaker who is passionate about intentional parenting. I believe we don't have to wait until our children are "of age" to train character, relationship skills and life skills. It is the ins and outs of the "daily grind" where we forge the character and skills in our children. I fully believe that training kids doesn't have to be like pulling teeth but should be injected with lavish amounts of creativity.  I believe that great parenting is 1 part creativity, 2 part consistency and 3 parts wisdom."

This Week's MOPPETS:

MOPPETS for October 8th and 22nd
We are falling in love with your children! And we hope that your children are falling in love with Boz the
Bear! Have you found Boz’s video in your MOPPETS/MOPS Welcome Packet? We hope that you
will also get to know Boz and his friends. Each month, the Boz Treehouse Time! curriculum will
generally be repeated as children learn through repetition. We will vary their crafts, activities, and snacks
so that each day is special.
Weather permitting, the children in Barnyard through Kids Zone classrooms may go outside for 15
minutes or so. With our changing weather, please have them wear appropriate jackets/clothing.
BOZ Treehouse Time! encourages young children to discover God’s world through play-based,
faith-focused activities. The interactive learning experiences will help children know and love
God.
BOZ TREEHOUSE TIME! October Topic: ‘What If?’
Celebrating God’s gift of imagination is the next theme for BOZ Treehouse Time! at
MOPPETS. We will explore the world of creative thought with your child who is just learning to
distinguish between what is real and what is pretend. This might already be a timely topic for your
family, as fantasy-based costumes and seasonal decorations become more obvious this month.
Lesson Overview: Just for you!
Watching children use God’s gift of creative thinking is one of the great joys of working with toddlers
and preschoolers. Limited only by their own imagination, children can turn the most boring day into
hours exploding with possibilities for smiles and laughter. Of course, this ‘free thinking’ can also create
scary thoughts and frightening images for children, possibly triggered by the sights and sounds of the
season. If children express fear of monsters, scary costumes or gory masks, respect their feelings and
say, “They are pretend. They aren’t real.” Young children may need to hear this message many times
and have countless non-scary experiences before they differentiate for themselves what is real and what
is not.
Memory Verse: God created everything. (1 Corinthians 8:6)
Biblical Concept: We are made in the image and likeness of God, the Creator.
Concept in Action: I can be creative
Snack: (October 8th) Puffs (soft cheetos) or popcorn
Snack: (October 22nd) Homemade Cinnamon  Chex cereal mix with candy corn
Visit BozTheBear.com for more information about our curriculum. If you have any questions or
concerns, please contact me.
